In my previous entry I have posted a list of the most important SEO tips for small business owners and starting webmasters. However, it would be appropriate to mention the other side of the coin, too. There are many SEO myths and mistakes around the Web and often it is difficult to determine whether certain technique really does work or it is just one of many common myths. Some of these myths are at least partially based in reality but there is a lot of crazy ones that are just plain fantasy. [...]

Smaller businessmen and webmasters are growing more and more aware that it is crucial to implement at least fundamental principles of search engine optimization in order to be successful on the Web. Most of the time they feel so sure of their skills and knowledge that they won’t even consult their SEO strategy with SEO experts and professionals that have been active in the industry for years. I have heard a lot of conflicting opinions on it lately, so I was curious to find out whether it really is so good (or so bad). [...]

There have been times when I used to be a Digg poweruser. I had almost a thousand of mutual friends there, I was digging their stories as often as I could and in exchange, they were digging my submissions and thus bringing me a decent traffic. However, Digg is no longer what it used to be. Too many users and too much of a low quality content. It doesn’t matter how good your content is. It just matters how many anonymous friends you have (most of them you’ve never spoken with) mechanically digging your submissions without even reading them. As a result, most of a digg traffic you receive is useless. [...]
