Mixx - My Favorite Social Network
There have been times when I used to be a Digg poweruser. I had almost a thousand of mutual friends there, I was digging their stories as often as I could and in exchange, they were digging my submissions and thus bringing me a decent traffic. However, Digg is no longer what it used to be. Too many users and too much of a low quality content. It doesn’t matter how good your content is. It just matters how many anonymous friends you have (most of them you’ve never spoken with) mechanically digging your submissions without even reading them. As a result, most of a digg traffic you receive is useless.
Digg Alternative?
So I have stopped using the Digg. Naturally, I needed an alternative. Basically, I was looking for a smaller but still vintage and user-friendly social network where quality still matters more than quantity. So I started browsing the web and and looking for something that would suit my requirements well. I have researched a couple of social networks and finally I have found two that really turned out to be a class A. They are Sphinn and Mixx. I have already been using these two for some time and so far I have been quite at my ease. Sphinn is perfect for this blog as it is actualy a smaller Digg centered around SEO (see SEO Explained) - which is my main niche. Mixx is more general but there are few reasons why it’s possibly my most favorite social network from all.
Mixx
There is a very neat feature I like about Mixx. Once you register, you can build YourMixx (your own homepage) by choosing areas of your interest you would like to stay tuned to (you can choose from various topics like news, popular stories, entertainment, technology and much more). Moreover, you can add your own tags to more specify what you’re interested in. For example, my own customized mixx contains Tech Opinion, Movies, Music, Soccer, Tennis and following tags: seo, webmaster, webdevelopment. This way I’m getting updates whenever there is some new story related to them.

Mixx has comfortable and user-friendly interface. Everything has its place, it is easy to navigate through (not too crowded) and your home page contains exactly what you want.
There are of course other possible advantages Mixx offers. Mixx is a fairly new social network (cca one year old) but has already growed enough and there is a growing community of people sharing their favorite web content (including stories, photos, videos etc). You should certainly consider taking a look at it because you can easily become one of first powerusers (they are called Super Mixxers and they have certain extra privileges plus additional features enabled). Considering its age and so far steadily growth, I think now is an ideal time to join.

I agree. I stopped visiting Digg as I noticed it depends mostly on who has more power than others in digging wise. I noticed Mixx is more balanced so I see more potential.
Keep up the great work!

Digg has always been a powerful social hub, with wide ranging benefits in terms of exposure, links and reputation who those who are creative enough to use it in a positive way… Mixx is one of the most underestimated social media websites around right now….
